Tiny Turtle
I had a tiny turtle;
His name was Tiny Tim.
I put him in the bathtub
To see if he could swim.

He drank up all the water
And ate up all the soap.
Now he’s home and sick in bed
With bubbles in his throat!
Bubble, bubble, bubble,
Bubble, bubble, bubble,
Bubble, bubble, bubble,
Bubble, bubble, POP!

Sticky Bubblegum!

Fingerplays

Five Little Peas
Five little peas in a pea pod pressed.
One grew, two grew, so did all the rest.
They grew, and they grew and they did not stop!
They grew so big that the pea pod POPPED!

Five Little Fishies
Five little fishies swimming in the sea,
Teasing Mr. Shark saying "Can't catch me!"
Along came Mr. Shark as quiet as can be
And SNAPPED a fishie right out of the sea!
Four little fishies…three…two…one…

The Baby Chant
Now's the time to go to bed. (Hold finger up—that's your baby)
Put the baby in the bed. (Lay finger in palm of other hand)
Cover the baby in the bed. (Wrap fingers around single finger)
And kiss the baby good-night! (Kiss the "baby" tucked in your hand)

Pop finger out of hand and say, "Baby is awake! What do you think baby needs before he can sleep?" Let child come up with an idea. Then say the chant again, and after you cover the baby chant again and after you cover the baby, say "Give the baby a bottle and kiss the baby good night."

Pop finger out of hand and say, “Baby is awake again! What does baby need? Add what child suggests to the previous idea: “Give the baby a bottle, give the baby a blankie and kiss the baby good night.”

After 4 things to give the baby, the baby can stay asleep!

Chubby Little Snowman
A chubby little snowman,
(Hold your arms in a circle to make a belly)
Had a carrot nose.
(Point your forefinger out from your nose)
Along came a bunny,
(Make a bunny with your fingers and make it hop)
And what do you suppose?
(Turn palms upward and shrug)
That hungry little bunny,
(Rub your tummy)
Looking for his lunch,
(Shade your eyes, as if looking into the distance)
Ate that snowman’s carrot nose.
(Make a bunny with one hand and a carrot with the other)
Nibble, nibble, CRUNCH!
(Make the bunny eat the carrot with two small bites and a final big bite)

I Had a Little Pig
I had a little pig.
I fed it from a trough.
He got so fat that his tail popped off!
So I got me a hammer,
And I got me a nail,
And I made that piggy a wooden tail!

Five Red Apples
Way up high in the apple tree,
Five red apples looked at me.
I shook the tree as hard as I could,
Down came one apple and mmmm, it was good!
(Repeat with 4, 3, 2, then 1 apple in the tree.)

Criss-Cross Applesauce
Criss-cross applesauce (Make an X on your child’s back)
Spiders crawling up your back (Then crawl fingers up back, tickle sides of body)
Cool breeze (blow on back of the neck)
Tight squeeze (quick hug)
Now you've got the shiver-ees! (Give one short last tickle)
